Day 1 of the Christmas Story: Creation

Nov 29, 2011 by

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:1-5 ESV)

    Hello,

Firstly I would like to thank you so much for your website and your posts. I just recently got married, and have been trying to come up with Advent traditions. I saw this post about day 1. I was wondering if you have all that days that your family goes through? Or copies of the letters you use? Thank you so much!

Hi Jonathan, unfortunately I don’t have all of the days typed up yet. We are still working through how exactly we want to do the devotional time as well. We made a list of the Biblical events we wanted to include, mostly taking from other Jesse Tree lists online (just tweaking them a bit at times) and then made our ornaments from that list. I have been typing up the “Key Lessons” that we want to drive home to our oldest (3 years old) son. So, hopefully by the end of this year’s advent I will have a compilation that I can use in the years to come. In the past we have simply read the corresponding passages of Scripture. Here are a couple of links to websites that list out the events and scriptures: https://www.rca.org/sslpage.aspx?pid=1628 , http://www.crivoice.org/jesse.html , http://www.shalfleet.net/advent/makeajessetree.htm

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have anymore questions.
