A (Podcast) List

Lists is a an ongoing series of posts that is made up of just what the title suggests–lists. As my bookmark bar gets loaded down with good reads, challenging blog posts, and interesting products I collect them here. Sometimes they follow a theme and sometimes they are completely random. Today’s list is… A (Podcast) List.

From Marriage to 50 Shades:

  • Ironing, folding laundry, doing the dishes, and cooking dinner. What do these things have in common? They are all excellent times to listen to edifying podcasts! Whether it is listening to a Christian talk show or convicting sermons, I love to “boost” these tedious tasks by listening in to some of my favorite, encouraging podcasts. Of course one that always tops the list is Revive Our Hearts with Nancy Leigh DeMoss. Nancy is always talking about important issues women face and always interviewing incredible people. I highly recommend that you listen into her podcast every day if you have the ability to. Otherwise, you can simply search through the archives of radio broadcasts to find a subject that fits your needs as you have time. One program that I listened to recently was such a touching interview with Joni Erickson Tada on some of the common issues married women face and some of the uncommon issues she has had to face due to her physical disabilities. I definitely recommend listening to it! Just click here to do so!
  • A really wonderful podcast that my husband recently turned my attention to called The White Horse Inn has been very encouraging to my lately. Each time I listen to it I am edified and challenged. Two podcasts that I have really enjoyed in the past week or so are A Juvenile Church? (a follow up interview after this article received lots of attention in the Christian world) and Grace Liberates (a sermon by Dr. Michael Horton).
  • Ligonier Ministries released a new App called RefNet that allows you to tune into a continuous stream of trustworthy preaching from pastors such as Alistair Begg, Albert Mohler, R.C. Sproul, John Piper, and more. It is nice to not have to pick what sermon you want to listen to (especially if you are really indecisive like me), instead you simply turn on the app and tune in to whatever is playing!
  • My friends over at Redeemed Reader just released a podcast featuring World’s Megan Basham where these three wonderful ladies discuss the tragic phenomenon of Fifty Shades of Grey. This pornographic novel is a cultural issue that we, as women, need to be very aware of and be able to talk about with those who have read this and other books like it.

  1. Great list. Two of our favorites are the Wretched Radio podcast and The Dividing Line with James White :)

I haven’t heard about Wretched Radio yet, but I do enjoy the Dividing Line! I will have to look it up. <3
